Things You'll Need:

Food and Toys

  • Food:  $65 and up per large bag of good quality food
  • Treats:  $3 - $15 (fresh veggies like carrots, red, yellow & orange peppers are great, apple sliced into wedges are always a favourite)
  • Food and Water Dishes:  $10 - $40
  • Toys:  $5 - $20 each (recommended brands are Cuz, Kong, Nylabone, Chuckit, Kyjen,Tuffy & Petstages)

Training and Crates

  • Crate:  $125 and up
  • Sleeping Bed:  $40 - $175
  • Leash and Collar:  $25 - $50
  • Baby Gate:  $150
  • Obedience Classes:  $225 - $350 for 8 weeks of puppy/beginner classes

Grooming

  • Brush:  $12 - $30
  • Shampoo:  $9 - $15
  • Ear Cleaner:  $12 - $20
  • Nail Trimmer:  $20 - $45
  • Toothbrush and Toothpaste:  $12 - $20

Vet Check Ups and Spay/Neuter

  • Puppy Series Vaccinations:  $80 - $120 per visit, requires two visits
  • Heartworm/Flea Control:  $95 - $350 per year
  • Spay/Neuter:  $395 - $500 and up (call your local Vet to find out the price in your area)
